I offered it particularly for grinding complete flax seed. It grinds it to perfection in 2ds. Although I use it for different nuts too, which I am extremely comfortable with it all. It is a snap to use, and is super super straightforward to wash, takes up little space on the countertop. Note that now not trying the lid to grow to be foggy (as some plastics do in high heat) I now not use the drying/heat operate on my dishwasher, so after going thru the cycle it comes out like new everytime. If you're the more or less person who likes to have the cords tucked into the appliance then you will be somewhat disappointed as the twine takes just a little fiddling to get it coiled back into the housing unit. In my non-public opinion I think this product is tremendousb, and I would now not hesitate to suggest it.

So I'm a spice freak. I really have more than a hundred spices in my pantry and prefer to grind my very own spice mixes the usage of whole spices. After breaking two espresso grinders trying to grind spices in them, I tried this little gem. I've had it for just about 6 months and it works splendidly well! I've floor hard and tender spices in it and that it destroys all of them down in a quantity of pulses. I've even used it to grind moist spices in small quantities with equal success.
Pros:
1. It works for both moist and dry spices.
2. The cup and the lid can both be put in the dishwasher- no need to possibility chopping your fingers on the blade!
3. The cup has an interior rubber lid that can be utilized to retailer spices in the cup if you wish to (I never do, but nonetheless..)
Cons:
1. After grinding, there is all the time spice dust on the outer fringe of the grinder and in the crevices that must be cleaned.
2. Because the lid itself is used to push down and grind, it does no lengthyer fit securely on the physique of the grinder when not in use. I'm all the time scared that the lid goes to fall off and ruin at some point.
All in all, I'm comfortable with the product and would purchase it again.
Edited to add (08/01/10):
After greater than a 12 months of regular use (bye bye warranty), the cup has jammed into the bottom and will now not come off. The machine still works, however because the grinding base is jammed and the cup itself is loose, spinning round while you hold the lid down, you cannot grind anything else. So long, Cuisinart. It was once good while it lasted.

This spice grinder is precisely what I was once searching for. It ground all my spices, even cinnamon and nutmeg, to a high-quality texture. I really have a Cuisinart espresso grinder which I tried to grind spices, nevertheless it did not grind spices as effective as I wanted.
The lid didn't "cloud" over like it does with some grinders while you grind some onerous stuff in it (cinnamon, nutmeg).
